Tonan Bootcamp & Brunch

Tonan Bootcamp & Brunch

My school friend Jennifer came to visit for the weekend and requested some 'London activities from an insider'- which put me under some pressure as I have only been here 9 months so can hardly claim to be an expert! However I put together a jam packed weekend and we had a ball! On saturday morning we walked (well turned into run as realised we were late so we arrived slightly sweaty...) to Lululemon in Chelsea for a Tonan Bootcamp. I have been wanting to go to one of these since I watched my friend Kirsten take part in one their classes at the Rooftop Fitness Fest (read about that here). So when I saw Tiffany Watson posting about this one on instagram, I snapped up two tickets. At £15 they are a little steep for an exercise class, but thought it would be a fun morning and a goodie bag was promised.....

I was serisouly impressed by the workout- PT lonan was really motivating and ensured everyone kept correct form throughout. He was the right kind of pushy- enough to keep going when I felt like giving up, but i also didn't end up hating him! The workout was based on several different circuits consisting of 4-5 bodyweight exercises. He mixed up length of time on each exercise and the order so I never got bored and the hour flew by. What i sometimes find with HIIT classes is that I waste alot of time transitioning from one exercise to the next and dont ever get into to it until just before time is up! Lonan took the time to go through the exercises at the start of each circuit which meant I could give it 100% throughout! They also restricted numbers which meant we all had plenty room to move about and Lonan could answer any questions we had.

After it finished, I got to speak to Tiffany watson (The 'T' in the Tonan bootcamp!) which was exciting for me being a Made in chelseasuper fan- as is jennifer! She was lovely and incredibly fit- she smashed the workout, i couldnt keep up! She handed us our goodie bags and the most INCREDIBLE peanut butter post workout shake. While possibly the greatest drink i've ever had, at £4.50 I don't think i will ever be buying one so i appreciated every sip! The goodie bags contained two fruit/vegetable drinks, some sachets of coconut oil and some other 'superfood powders'. While the drinks are a great way to increase vegetable intakes, I chucked out the powders, i couldnt think what i could posibly sprinkle that green powder on without ruining the taste/appearnace. i prefer to get my nutrients from normal, balanced meals! Also included was a 15% off Lululemon voucher which meant buying all the clothes I had been eyeing up during the workout became even more tempting! I did resist though but have noted a couple of things for my christmas list!

After saying goodbye to Tiff and Co, we wondered in the sunshine in chelsea, feeling like quite the Londoners! We headed along to The Good Life Eatery which has been on my 'to eat' list for a while due to several food porny posts from friends on instagram! i opted for the granola and berry coconut yogurt bowl which was delicous! Yogurt was so creamy, berries super fresh and the granola clearly homemade. Jennifer opted for the 'Choc Norris' superfood smoothie which with avocado, banana, almond milk and almond butter was a meal in itself! Jennifer did actually regret ordering this as it wasn't a patch on the peanut butter smoothie we had at the bootcamp- i think she panic ordered! However, mine was so tasty and there was about 5 others things I want to try off the menu (especially the chestnut and almond waffles!) so I will be returning for sure!

Dog sitting Bramble all weekend!

Dog sitting Bramble all weekend!

The rest of the weekend involved- bottomless prosecco sushi at Inamo Sushi in Covent garden, dog sitting Bramble for my friend who was on holiday and brunch with a view at The Duck and Waffle. I would recommend all- however maybe stop at 2 bottles of prosecco so that you aren't too hungover for the Duck and Waffle! I booked 3 months in advance- so hard to get reservation- and had been dreaming of their waffles, but could only stomach plain eggs on toast on the day! Still yummy though....
